Starting from may 2011 Micro Photon Devices, thanks to the recent advances from Politecnico di Milano in designing single photon avalanche diodes, will introduce a new line of single photon counters (PDM-R) with greatly increased quantum efficiency in the red range of the visible spectrum. The PDM-R device will also keep the same outstanding performances of the standard PDM: ultra-fast timing resolution, even if now better than 100ps, high photon detection efficiency, low power consumption, small size and extreme reliablility.

The modules will be available,as the standard PDM, with different features: 20µm, 50µm and 100µm active sensing area diameter Peltier-cooled and uncooled (20µm only) additional timing board can be installed in the module to enhance timing performance.
